Orange Coast Baseball Group (OCBG) is comprised of experienced and caring coaches, teachers, and players from all levels of business and our community. From high school coaches to college professors to college coaches and players, our goals are simple; create a baseball training program that is educational and fun for our young athletes.
Orange Coast Baseball Group was created to provide baseball training and education to student athletes as they prepare for high school and college. What sets us apart is our focus for the athletes to improve upon the fundamentals of the game and to improve their overall skillset for the next level of competition. Then, we couple this with an unwavering desire to see our athletes grow their character and develop leadership skills for life.

Our Mission Statement- To inspire student athletes to grow beyond the playing field. To provide instruction, guidance and mentorship to build athletic prowess, character, leadership and serve the communities where we play.
Steve has been a leader in the hospitality industry for over 30 years and spent 12 years teaching at the college level. Steve founded OCBG as it allows him to work with student athletes and help them reach new heights as they move into high school and college. Our goal is to provide coaching, guidance and motivation to student athletes on the field as well as off the field.
Steve also cofounded California Culinary Coalition, a non-profit recovered food kitchen that helps provide meals to those in need in Orange County.
Steve has been coaching youth baseball for 5 years and wanted to find a way to combine his passions for coaching baseball, teaching and being an entrepreneur. OCBG allows him to promote baseball and education while building an elite training program for student athletes in The OC.
Todd Blyleven is an inspirational speaker, mental health advocate, and former professional athlete renowned for his ability to foster positive transformation in diverse settings. With a captivating blend of personal resilience, professional expertise, and a remarkable survival story, Todd empowers audiences to embrace vulnerability, empathy, and personal growth.
Growing up in the dynamic world of professional baseball, Todd's journey was deeply intertwined with the sports arena from an early age. His immersion in major-league baseball offered invaluable insights into the mindset of top athletes, equipping him with a profound understanding of the drive, challenges, and victories that define the sports landscape.
Jesse is a distinguished former student-athlete with a strong foundation in both academics and sports, having graduated from Stanford University. His athletic prowess was evident early on, and he notably earned the MVP Award while representing the 2009 USA Baseball 14U National Team in Ecuador.
Before his collegiate journey, Jesse made a significant impact at Huntington Beach High School, where he clinched the top spot in the Sunset League rankings during his senior year. His achievements extended beyond the league, showcasing a remarkable high school career marked by excellence and dedication.
Jesse's journey in baseball began at the Compton MLB Urban Youth Academy, where he honed his skills and laid the groundwork for his successful career. Notably, he has actively contributed to his community by volunteering as an instructor and coach. His commitment to giving back is exemplified by his work with children ranging from 10 years old to the collegiate level, demonstrating a passion for mentorship and development. Jesse's multifaceted experiences reflect not only his athletic prowess but also his dedication to fostering growth and positive impact in the world of sports and beyond.
Paul Grossman is a phenom baseball player with Northwood High School in Irvine. At the age of 17 and a junior, he is committed to The University of Southern California (USC). His achievements at such a young age, including winning MVP in the Pacific Coast League and receiving all-league honors throughout high school, demonstrate his exceptional skills and commitment to the sport.
Paul's influence extends beyond the field, as evidenced by his participation in prestigious events like the Area Codes for top players and his ranking as the #6 pitcher by Perfect Game. These accolades further underscore his talent and the high regard he is held in within the baseball community. His ability to pitch up to 92 MPH is a testament to his natural talent and the hard work he has put into developing his skills.
Paul's impact goes beyond his own performance on the field. He also has a passion for teaching and mentoring younger players, a quality that sets him apart. His approach of tailoring training programs to each individual based on their strengths and weaknesses is a clear indication of his understanding of the game and his dedication to helping others improve. This nurturing and supportive nature makes him a potential role model for future players.
Colin Carlson is a baseball player and team leader at Northwood High School in Irvine. His achievements include being the starting catcher and four-hole batter for the Pacific Coast League-winning team. He received a varsity letter and scholar-athlete award and is currently pursuing opportunities for college-level play.
Building on his own academic accomplishments, Colin encourages students to work hard in and out of the classroom. He helps athletes design programs to build on their strengths and better understand the game.
Colin's dedication to the game is not only evident in his own pursuits but also in his service to the Northwood Little League Challenger Program. His commitment to the sport extends beyond his own little league days, as he has served as an assistant coach for a baseball travel team, nurturing young catchers who have found success in high school.
Paul is 21 years old and an accomplished player and youth coach. Paul graduated from Beckman HS and held the record for homeruns for his team. He was the offensive player of the year and led the league in homeruns and RBI’s.
He later returned to Beckman HS to coach the freshman baseball team and has focused on coaching youth baseball when he is not working on his own game.
Paul spent the last year playing professionally in Japan and continues to work toward a career here in the states for a big league team. As a pitcher, Paul focuses on training his arm, his body and his mind. He is currently throwing at 93mph and continues to increase his velocity.
We wish Paul great success as he left January '24 to continue his career in Japan!
Mike is a former MLB strength and conditioning coach with the Atlanta Braves, New York Mets and Arizona Diamondbacks. Mike is passionate about strength and conditioning and helping people improve their performance.
For some, that may be a desire to enhance performance and productivity at a particular sport or profession, while for others it’s simply looking, feeling and moving better. Performance Code programs incorporate different methods and blend styles of training to help goal-oriented people progress.
Mike is available for personalized strength and conditioning programs through our EA360 app to assist student athletes improve strength and endurance while mitigating injury.
Racquel is a San Diego native who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Foods and
Nutrition at San Diego State University. She has a certificate as a sports nutritionist through AFPA, American Fitness Professionals & Associates, to further her knowledge and understanding in this field. She has a passion for helping those gain a positive perspective towards nutrition and living their life that best suits their needs.
Racquel is available to consult on nutrition and meal prep. She will use our EA360 app to help student-athletes understand how to eat for strength and power.
Felix is a successful entrepreneur, creative artist, and director of videos and commercials, and an artistic brand marketing wizard. He showcases over 21 years of experience in the entertainment industry while working for companies such as Method, Hydraulx, The Mill, and TiltShift.
Dominating a commercial background, the professional experience expands to game cinematics, film, shoot supervision, VFX Supervision, Creative Directing, and Directing.
Felix has also been involved with little league baseball, coaching his two boys for three seasons.
